Testimonials for Gentle Yoga:
"I have been attending Lesley's weekly classes for 13 or 14 years and continue to benefit from them after these many years. while billed as 'gentle yoga', this doesn't mean 'easy' or 'undemanding'. The classes allow each participant to learn their own limits - and often to find safe ways to go beyond what we might think is the limit for us.
At the end of a session you feel like you have given your body a thorough massage, inside and out, yet you will feel relaxed. The classes are a good mix of physical activity, breathing, relaxation and philosophy. There are always handouts to give guidance with practice at home. These might include diagrammatic flow sequences, a sheet suggesting how to follow a full practice session over the holidays; a detailed description of how certain muscles work in the body, and how to keep them in good condition (especially good for lower backs!). Over the years I have found handouts suggesting home practices most helpful for keeping going through the holidays.
Lesley has helped me put yoga practice at the centre of my life and to keep it there. Now over 70, I believe my yoga practice helps me to keep fit and healthy"
"It's a lovely friendly class and I like the fact that we are encouraged to 'listen to our bodies' rather than push them hard.
I'm sure I wouldn't practise without the classes to encourage me . And it's nice to have someone to correct me when I'm not practising properly - it's easy to get into bad habits without realising it. We also have fun!"
"[Most beneficial are]..the combination of yoga poses and correct breathing; along with reassurance and guidance from Lesley, knowing that Lesley will correct my posture and suggest alternative poses if any are not suitable.
[The most important things I have gained from my yoga practice are]..confidence, flexibility and learning to relax and 'let go'. Being part of a yoga 'family'. "
